Despite the drought nature is alive and well in my backyard. The menagerie includes lizards, orioles, finches, doves, crows, and those Caddyshack stars ... gophers. The 2nd gopher of the season (came up in tomato bed) just bit the dust in Jim's new trap. Ugh. It was huge, fuzzy, and quite rodent-like. Succulents are doing well. Bouganvilla, hydrangeas, calandrinia (with bright magenta flowers) are also thriving. This new legislation of watering only on Thursdays and Sundays has put a crimp in my fun. We are working on drip irrigation for the front landscaping beds and will eventually move to the back yard. I am going to sign up for a designer consultation at the WCG for help with back yard design & hard scape. Looking forward to perusing garden area at San Diego County Fair for more ideas.
